One of Rhyl's best assets is its fantastic stretch of sandy beach!
Here, DCC's Streetscene Coordinator, Wes, takes the new surf rake, commonly used in resort destinations around the world, out for a spin. Rhyl's own surf rake is an additional investment into our beach and will enhance the work of our volunteer beach cleaners and help keep Rhyl's beach cleaner, safer, and more appealing for our residents and also tourists!
Rhyl's new surf rake is funded in partnership with Denbighshire County Council, Rhyl Town Council, Keep Wales Tidy, and Rhyl BID.
In case you weren't aware, Keith Jones leads Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) Rhyl and District area an organisation actively involved in keeping Rhyl beach clean. They're doing an amazing job of preserving the beauty of the beach. If you want to stay updated on Rhyl Beach Clean events and join the community in voluntarily cleaning the beach, make sure to visit their Facebook page. It's heartwarming to see how everyone comes together to make a difference. Thanks to Surfers Against Sewage's leadership, Rhyl's beach remains a prime example of how collective efforts can keep our environment clean.
