Rhyl May Day is a popular event that takes place each year in Rhyl.
The first Rhyl May Day Celebrations were held in 1891 where Miss Beta Barger, was crowned as the first Rhyl May Queen.
In 2000 the Parade was moved from May to June/July time as the weather was more favourable for the celebrations but the Crowning of the May Queens has always remained in May.
Over our history the Celebrations have only ever not been held for 5 years once at the high on World War 1 and again in World War 2 and then for 3 year due to COVID-19.
We are a community based non - profit group of ladies who organise the Carnival each year as well as other events for the Carnival / Pageant community.
